Budding naturalists have new resource for field studies

Victoria, BC, June 24, 2005 – Children’s love of nature will grow as they discover freshwater life, from anhingas to whirligigs, in a new game from Outset Media.

“With Freshwater Life of North America, kids will get more excited about their visits to ponds, lakes and rivers,” said David Manga, president of Outset Media. Manga says children thrive on discovery. “Kids are more interested in exploring freshwater places when they know what to look for. It develops their love and respect for nature.”

The game cards have nature illustrations on the front and questions on the back. There are two categories, easy and hard, so kids of all ages can play together. The games include such questions as “What is the largest species of frog in North America?” and “How many legs do crayfish have?”

This game is from the Professor Noggin’s card game series. The games have won ten major awards, and media and award groups say they are great for travel. Professor Noggin recommends her games for ages 7 and up.
